As a child going on holiday when I was about 12 yrs of age, we left the next door neighbour the door keys to come in and feed the fish. "Just a pinch, once a day is all they need" I said.

On returning from holiday, I am greeted with cloudy water, with the fish in very poor health. My neighbour had used all of one full tub of fish flakes and had started on the second tub. We were only away for two weeks. I did manage to save most of the fish, but the pump/filter just couldn't cope with that amount of contamination. One of the fish that died was a black moor, at aroundf 4 - 5 inches.

After reading above "Feed little as they are prone to overeating" reminded me of this event. I used to keep the water so clear as well..... 8(.

Odd how they call the orange ones telescopes and black ones moors.

We used to have some of these in our pond they got huge fast! I bet they were 8 or 10 inches and bodies as big as your hand. They never had babies and lived probably 4 or 5 years.
