Buy Waterlilies and Pond Plants in 2010! (Part 1)

Buying Pond Plants and Waterlilies online from vendors and nurseries usually provides a much larger selection than choosing from smaller local nurseries.  At Pond Megastore, we offer developed full grown water lilies, some vendors only offer Tubers or Rhizomes. Other companies just lay rhizomes in warm water allowing them to sprout and sending you a start. These are not the best practices. Make sure you can call and talk to a person by phone and ask if the plants are of blooming size.  Our waterlilies are gown for the most part in south Florida and can be shipped as blooming size from March-September and many varieties during the winter.

Our submerged plants are grown on-site in Florida and also harvested from local Florida aquaculture. Many northern nurseries or pet store import their selection from Florida and the continual movement of these plants from one facility to another can cause some damage though there are plenty of excellent vendors stretching well into Canada. Our advice is that you may might want to see the plants you are getting before you place your first order. Ask questions.

Lotus can be found now as grown plants by many vendors. For the last few decades they have been popular as tubers. A grown lotus can cost anywhere from $45-$100 and tubers remain $30-$45. This is the only plant you should have to buy as a rhizome and you can plant it and get flower in 1 year if planted and treated properly.

In 2010 we will add to our sell-able lilies varieties such as Nymphaea Bulls Eye (Award winner 2008), Nymphaea Ultra Violet (Awarded Best New Waterlily 2008), Nymphaea Alexis, Nymphaea Charlies Pride, Nymphaea Foxfire, Nymphaea Electra, Nymphaea Sir Galahad, Nymphaea Teri Dunn, Nymphaea Surfrider, Nymphaea Stuartevanti, Nymphaea Sir Galahad, and a few others.

Our Lotus selection is expected to include over 20 new Chinese and international collector varieties. More on this to come!
